Her Story

I believe that the best relationships are found on solid friendships, and Sameer and I have been good friends for years.  When I met Sameer ten years ago at a family friend’s house, he struck me as kind, handsome, and smart, but I did not think anything of it. Fast forward a few years, and many family parties later…. I still thought of him as a friend.  A little over a year ago, I briefly lived in Mountain View to be closer to work, and this gave us the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company outside of family parties since he lived close by.  We started spending a lot of time together, and naturally, his personality drew me to him. He was (and still is) so sweet. One night at dinner, when we were still friends, Sameer brought me a rose (which I still have to this day). I can't believe that even then I didn't think he liked me more than as a friend! A few weeks later, we went to a shooting range, and that's when it struck me that I had fallen for him. One evening, I finally mustered up the courage to ask Sameer about his feelings for me (because God knows he was too shy to ask me!), and the rest is history!

Sameer proposed to me on June 12, 2014 and I was so happy to say yes to my best friend. Although I am always right :-), it turns out that Sameer was right this time around—he knew that we were right for each other long before I did!  And now, I can’t wait to become Mrs. Arora and celebrate this joy with all of you in just a few months!
